What is ECU Remapping?
Your vehicle ECU (engine control unit) is effectively a computer that controls every aspect of your engines performance.
Manufactures place restrictions on modern ECU’s to accomodate for those operating poor service schedules or using low quality fuels.
Limitations are placed on many of the variables within your ECU (known as maps) – including fueling, boost pressure, timing etc.
We can optimise the performance and economy of your vehicle by reducing these limitations – allowing you to enjoy the vehicle to its full potential.
To keep costs down, engines are becoming increaseingly modular. This is prompting more and more manufacturers to simply remap thier own engines. They then provide models with varying power outputs at highly inflated prices.
For example, the same 2.0 TFSI VAG engine is used in the VW Golf E30 (with 230PS), the Seat Leon Cupra (with 240PS) and the Audi S3 (with 265PS).
Even the S3 still has large reserves placed on it by Audi. This alone shows the tolerances of the modern engine.
Remapping not only enhances the performance of your engine, but also the driveability and fuel economy.
We still leave the reserves necessary to assure absolute reliability – offering a safe solution to tuning your vehicle.
Our Procedure
Within a couple of hours, we will replace your vehicles current engine management software with a new optimised file. Please note: all standard files are saved should you wish to revert back to standard for any reason (selling the vehicle etc).

We connect our equipment to your vehicles OBD (on Board Diagnostic) port. This enables us to read the standard ECU file. 
We then listen to your own specific requirements – you may be focusing on performance, economy, towing or simply a good all-round solution. -
Using state of the art software, we design a new ECU file, customised to your own requirements. All of our remaps are CUSTOM, we do not use generic files. 
We then upload the modified file via your OBD port.
